Meet the Ranchers......
Dan and Clarissa Feldman own and operate Setting D Ranch, a 3rd generation family ranch, in Litchfield, Nebraska. In 1942, Dan's Grandpa, Walt Feldman, started the ranch by offering Black Angus cattle by carcass to neighbors and raising row crops.
Dan and Clarissa continue his tradition today, with the addition of more cattle breeds and pigs!
All of our stock is harvested at a local Nebraska, USDA Inspected locker. Cuts are sold by the pound as frozen and pre-packaged. We are currently offering beef, pork and mixed cut boxes! Currently shipping to the majority of the lower 48.
And as if we aren't busy enough, we enjoy showing our Foundation Quarter horses, attending Farmers Markets and are active members in the Nebraska Cattlemen.
** We offer Local Delivery and Local Pick Up in addtion to our Shipping options!

Ranch Raised Beef
Angus, Hereford and Angus/Hereford cross cattle
Dan and Clarissa continue grandpa's tradition of raising Black Angus cattle today. When they got married, Clarissa also convinced Dan to purchase Herefords! Now they raise Angus/Hereford cross cattle along with the Black Angus. There is a spring and fall calving herd that also keeps them busy!
The cattle are raised on grass until they are 500 to 700 pounds, at which time they are weaned and moved to a pen where they are put on a grain based grower/finisher ration.
The ration consists of locally-sourced corn and supplements. We grind the corn and mix the ration right here on the Ranch. The cattle are also fed some distillers and hay for filler.

Ranch Raised Pork
Hampshire/Berkshire cross
Our pigs are purchased at weaning time from a local Rancher near North Platte, Nebraska. They are the comedy of the ranch, always trying to escape! This in turn shows Dan all his fence building flaws. Clarissa, on the other hand grew up building hog fence with her grandparents as they raised hogs, farrow to finish for years.
Our pigs are dirt raised with a provided shed for shelter. That means our pigs are allowed to run around outside in a pen where they have access to fresh air and dirt, allowing them to grow at their own pace and in a more natural environment. Pigs love to rut and dig holes to lay in especially in the summer time when we make them mud holes to keep cool in!
The ration consists of locally-sourced corn and supplements. We grind the corn and mix the ration right here on the Ranch. The pigs are also fed some distillers and hay for filler. They are on a self-feeder.
They love to get large round bales to destroy and play in!
